Okay, fair question. My name's Vanessa Falsetto [She/Her], a transgender lesbian foxgirl, and I make music.
Long before [time had a name?] I had any amount of serious online presence I played saxophone for middle & high school. I was quite good at it, but my lack of interest in saxophone as a "voice" for me and my growing interest in scripting and game design would push me to stop making music.
During simpler times on the internet I was referred to as "SpelunkyGaming". I was generally known pretty well for my work in the game engine Roblox Studio as an inde developer for the games Sh!ft and Monument Journey - both of which are now long dead projects for varying personal reasons.
Afterwards I continued to work on myself with miscellaneous projects - anything from Minecraft modpacks to Beat Saber custom models, before eventually settling in on a game called Ultrakill. This is when I started working on a series of custom levels known as Fraudulence and is where I get my existing username from.
For more personal reasons, I eventually stopped working on Fraudulence and sort of just, existed in the world for a while. During this time I reflected on a lot of the projects I've worked on in the past, and what I do and don't enjoy doing, and quite frankly - I fucking missed making music, not the saxohpone, but the act of making music and performing I guess? I definitely missed being on a stage.
So that's the story - a musician turned game developer turned musician again. An all-around creator of things on the internet.
Because I like it and I wanna do it. When did simply "liking" something or "just wanting" to do something ever stop being a reason to do things? You don't owe anybody "a good enough reason" to simply do something, because at the end of the day that "good enough reason" is going to already be subjective so like, fuck it. And for the 3 of you who read this as a trans allegory, you're right.
